Me and the people I was working with at the time were at the party on the Sony yacht, with me taking full advantage of the open bar (and spending a chunk of the night sitting in the yacht's hot tub - before anyone asks, it was drained, so if anyone at Sony wants to know why some Vans shoeprints were all over the thing the next morning...), and at some point I got chatting with a guy developing a new form of disc (I presume one of Blu-ray or HD DVD), and as he wanted a cigarette I followed him off the yacht to the dock. Yeah, I know, Sony have a no smoking yacht. Whilst chatting on the dock, he introduced his friend who just showed up and told me he was a top flight footballer, and then offered me some weed. Annoyingly, I have no idea what their name was (anyone got an encyclopedia knowledge of players in the 2005-6 Ligue 1 season?), so for the sake of argument let's just say it was Maroune Chamakh. Please be aware I was not saying that Maroune Chamakh regularly hangs around film festivals scoring weed, just in case his lawyers are reading this... |
