The scene opens up inside a hotel room somewhere in Los Angeles, California the camera begins to do a slow pan of the room. The camera picks up Aries who is standing with his back to the camera. He then slowly begins to turn after a few seconds he stares in to the camera. He waits a few moments but then wastes no time in beginning to say what he wants to say.
"I admit that last week I came to a crossroads in my career not sure what to do. I lost to Jason Richards he beat me cleanly nothing I can say about that. I was all set to walk away to give it up and just say screw it. I jumped the gun though because this business is in my blood it is what I love. I may go through hell for awhile but it is going to make me better. I am not going nowhere I will always be here I will always be Pro Wrestling X".
The thoughts seem to be racing through his mind but he does not seem to care as he just continues on.
"Jason Richards you seem to be a man who is pretty proud of himself you beat me one on one. The one thing you did not do was break my will I am still here. I may have been beaten but I am not out and this time I have one of the best in Night Hawk by my side. The two of us are one of the best tag teams in the world while your with someone you do not know. The world is wondering how that will work out but if I know anything about this business it is not going to end well at all. The two of you are just two men who are standing in our way of what we aim to accomplish that being the new world tag team champions."
He seems to be becoming a little more confident as he takes a deep breath he continues on.
"Tj Codiar I know next to nothing about you expect for the fact you think very highly of yourself. I would assume that is why management threw you and Richards together. I am not sure what you think your going to accomplish here but it will be nothing what so ever. Night Hawk and myself are going to make an example out of you welcome to Bad Company. The two of us are two of the very best in the world your just trying to get your foot in the door here. I hope your truly ready for what is to come because if not your just going to end up embarrassing yourself."
He keeps his complete focus on the camera as he lets out a breath he continues on.
I am never going to stop fighting no matter if it is a team or on my own I will always be here. I will never walk away from Pro Wrestling X it is home to me. I am going in to this match like I do any other to prove myself. I have talked a lot about being one of the best it's time to show it. The two men this week will find out why I am called the phenom. I promise you all are looking at one half of your future world tag team champions.
He causally turns back to the window as the scene fades to black.

The scene opens up as TJ Codair is seen with his arms crossed glaring at the camera as it comes into focus on him, he puts out a lit cigarette in an ashtray that is on the table next to him as he begins to speak.
“Well now kids, its that time again to be thankful for the opportunities that are now present. I mean hell I am. I get a revitalized career, I feel reinvigorated. Hell I feel like I can run a god damn marathon and beat down half the guys in the locker room.”
Codair shrugs for a quick second.
“Oh that's right, I can beat down half the guys in the locker room. Right now, I can hear the whiny little fucking maggots in the back sitting in there lil chair's primping their fucking hair right now. Who the hell does he think he is? Who does this TJ Codair prick think he is?”
Codair moves his face closer to the camera
“IM THE GUY SHOVING THE PINEAPPLE UP SATAN'S ASS.”
Codair moves back.
“So I just watched Little Nicky, so what. Fact is I could say I am the tooth fairy, however that would be some copyright bullshit because some big brother wrestler did that movie. Whatever fact is this. I am the guy no one wants around because I am the only bastard here with enough balls to come out and tell all of you just who in the fuck I am, and what the fuck is going to happen. I am The Devil's Own, you know why. Because I am that much of a mother fucker. I brought out the changes that have happened in the god damn industry. I am the guy that made it cool to be the bad guy. I am the mother fucker who made it cool to drive a fucking motorcycle through a god damn jumbo-tron, ride to the ring, beat the fuck outta people with a baseball bat. Hell if I wanna come to the ring and beat someone with a double ended dildo, I WILL FUCKING DO IT, YOU KNOW WHY. Cause I do whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want, ya don't like it tough shit.”
Codair takes a breath for a quick second then begins to speak.
“Nighthawk, man The lil I know of ya is that ya got a mick background. Ya come from Irish decent and that is something I can appreciate of ya. Ya got the strong Irish blood behind ya and ya are more en likely a good family man. Hard working, ya support the best ya can no matter what and ya don't back down. Thats All I know of ya. Ya see man, don't take it personally cause I gotta research ya bit. I am still getting accustomed to the whole lot of ya. I grew up in the Irish portion of Boston, yeah I know. Its hard to believe not all of Boston is Irish, don't believe TV. However I grew up in a neighborhood on the north east side of Boston, Charlestown. Bunker Hill Monument is there, strong Irish up bringing, and of course the trouble that ensues. Fact is man, family backing You and I are on the same page with our roots. Now it is argued that your one of the greats in the ring when it comes to your technical ability.
Codair gets a half smile on his face as he rubs his hands together.
“I am willing to bet ya did not think ya would be squaring off against me, and that I am in par with your claim. Ya see, I am a technical wrestler. I am quite good at it, honestly I am one of the best in the world when it come being an in ring technician. I can suplex anyone, no matter how big or small they are and make it done with the greatest of ease. I can also make you tap out, at any point with a quick submission lock outta left field. My martial arts background in Judo has given me that type of quick thinking and given me the experience needed of the human body to make things like that happen. Now I don't know you, nor am I going to claim that I know you. However there is one thing you need to consider. That is, that I am still one of the baddest mother fuckers on this planet.”
Codair looks at the camera and cracks his neck.
“Don't get me wrong, I have gotten older, I am 39, been around the block for bout 20 years however I am still going. Why, well I don't like to just sit around. I am a lifer to this sport, and have proven every time I have stepped into the ring. You will soon understand what I am saying. Nighthawk, I look forward to seeing how capable you are”
Codair just looks at the camera and then starts to speak again, this time focusing on the other opponent.
“Jason Aries, What I have heard about you well ain't all that flattering to be honest. However I ain't one to judge til I get in the ring with ya. That is the type of guy I am. Fact is you don't ever know anyone until your in the middle of that ring squaring off with em. Just like Nighthawk, I ain't familiar with you. Which leaves me at a huge disadvantage, but luckily I will be able to look into the both of you real soon. I do however know you two are quite familiar with each other and have teamed before. Which leaves me and my partner at more of a disadvantage.”
Codair shrugs.
“However the arrogance ya already shown, ha ha ha, nice to see you are flawed because you were so quick to judge and make a valid opinion. I am high on myself, because I earned it. I earned it for years beating lil shits around like they were nothing more then a mere clowns. Your a clown, so imagine exactly what I plan on doing to a piece of shit such as yourself. You see, I was planning on keeping this nice and friendly. However you had to just run your mouth. Try to be the big man, the scary man. All you did was admit to me and the rest of the world that you are in fact a coward, a wimp, hell dare I say a piece of shit. A piece of shit that could not wrestle his way out of a paper bag. Two of the best in the world. Ha, that is insulting to the rest of the people who think that they are worth something and yet are truly nothing.”
Codair just cracks his neck.
“Your arrogance, it ain't insulting to me. It is insulting to everyone else that thinks they are bad and actually attempt to prove it with more success then you have. However Jason, I will tell you what. I will attempt to give you the props you supposedly deserve and feel that your entitled too. You are one of the best in the world, however the best in the world at wrestling. I think not. I was just gonna say you were one of the best at running your mouth an proving to the entire company that your all talk, no balls. Run your mouth a lil more please cause I would love to get up the aggravation to make sure your mouth is wired shut for a good while.”
Codair glares at the camera.
“I am not saying though for you two to get a big head and think you guys got this in the bag, because that is far beyond the point. I am experienced and far before I was a singles wrestler, I was a tag team guy. I know how to work in that ring, and I know when and where to tag. I also know how to corner and take advantage of a single person in that ring. To make sure he don't make it to his partner easily. Yeah I know, the bad guy thing to do. However it is affective. I am accomplished in all forms of wrestling because lets face it, ya been around for 20 years, you learn a thing or too, which brings me to my partner. I am not familiar with him either, however with what I am told, having him backing me, it should be an interesting match.”
Codair focuses directly at the camera and just begins to speak again.
“Ya know, the time I have been here in the PWX, I have learned that no matter what I do, what I say, how I act whatever I got a bunch of these young up and comers thinking I am nothing, that I am a piece of shit that is going to be walked on. Just because I am 39, because I am an old timer. Guess what all you new school wannabe posers. I was new school long before any of you fucks. If you wanna get even more personal with it, you fucks can thank me for it all day long, because if it weren’t for guys like me 15 years ago, you idiots would not be able to act the way you do now. So Aries, run your mouth, Nighthawk, you can attempt to run your mouth. Me and Jason Richards got both of your numbers. He being one of the hardest strikers in the business today, me being still one of the most tenacious mother fuckers alive today. Do the math.”

““The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” As Nighthawk staggers towards the general direction of his freezer in the small row house he rents in Los Angeles as he reunites his team of Bad Company with Jason Aries to take on the somewhat ad-hoc team of TJ Codair and Jason Richards one has to wonder how the Chicago native is going to feel about returning to tag team competition just one short week after what many would argue was a career-making performance in defeating John Pariah.
But while, to the eyes of many, his performance last week was about as good as it could have been Nighthawk is, if nothing else can be said about him, the sort of person who focuses intensely and completely on what the next challenge is in front of him to the point where he legitimately will not remember any of the good work that he has done previously and will instead put all of his focus and attention on doing whatever he can to ensure that himself and Jason Aries come out the winner in their tag team match.
Despite this knowledge, and the fact that he can rely on having the dual advantages of superior teamwork and being a regular tag team, the “Wrestling Machine” appears to have made the decision to remain focused entirely on studying his two disparate opponents and figuring out the best way that he and Jason Aries can defeat them together, something that their partnership will need to get used to doing in short order if they want to win the upcoming World Tag Team Title Tournament which they now must consider themselves favorites for with the dissolution of the #1 seeds Elijah Black and Nightmare.
But while so many have thought of Bad Company as a team brought together by circumstances and a deep need to avenge slights, it has now become clear that they are now something much bigger than that.
But as Nighthawk sits down exhaustedly on a leather-backed chair near the freezer, ice on the back of his neck and his jaw, the door to his room yawns open and in walks his wife Sin and his long-time mentor Jorge Rivera. Standing up gingerly and embracing the two people who mean the most in his life the “Man of 1000 Holds” lays back down on the chair as if the simple act of doing that took far more energy out of him than he is willing to admit to.
(Author’s Note: This conversation took place in Spanish.)
Sin, holding the hand of her husband who looks exhausted on a level that we cannot remember seeing from him: “I want you to know how proud of you I am, Jorge is, and we all are. I know what beating John Pariah took out of you, and doing it the way that you did needs to be the sort of thing that you should really appreciate. But you have to ask yourself this, Tristan. How much more of this do you honestly think your body is going to be able to take? The day will come when your body is no longer willing to take the beating and the pounding that it’s been taken for years and decades, and it will just say stop. And a week after a match that meant as much to your career as defeating John Pariah was, you have to go and team up with Jason Aries in a tag team match? You know that your opponents will want nothing more than to prove themselves by injuring you, beating you, or both. They’re going to want to make their names by saying they took out two men who are symbols of the best of PWX. Face it, Tristan, right now you are a symbol. To TJ Codair and Jason Richards, and frankly to all of the new guys who show up in PWX, you are the big game that they dream of hunting.”
Jorge, looking into the eyes of his student: “It’s true, Tristan. What she’s saying is absolutely true. For the rest of your career here, and any place that you might choose to go after it, you will be a symbol. You will be a big bold line on the resume of any wrestler who beats you. the sooner you come to understand that, and the sooner you become used to defending yourself against a collection of young turks who will want nothing more than to say they beat you no matter how they did it, the better off you will be. Now, what do you say we do all that we can to make sure that you’re ready for it when it comes? Because if you want to be a good partner to Jason Aries as much as you say you do, then the best way for you to be able to do that is to prepare yourself for any contingency no matter how small.”
And with that, they close to the door to the condominium with us on the other side of it as the long-standing, and completely understandable, practice of keeping any sort of media whatsoever out of their strategy sessions.
A few hours later….
As Nighthawk sits on the veranda of his condominium, a fish taco on a plate near his right shoulder, the “Wrestling Machine” slowly closes his eyes. Clad in a baby-blue British Bulldogs t-shirt, black leather pants with blue and silver piping up and down each leg, and black wrestling shoes, Nighthawk opens his eyes and glares out towards the city life bubbling and pulsing below him.
Nighthawk: “When I was a young wrestler, just getting started on making a name for myself, I would go to as many places as would have me. I wanted to learn, and the best way to do that is to travel to as many places as you can and be taught by whoever is willing. And the lessons that stuck with me the most, the lessons that stayed with me when I opened my own wrestling school, are the lessons I learned when I was in the dojos of Japan. Not how to get the most out of every hold, or the discipline and focus I needed to master every hold like it was the first one I had ever learned, although those were all valuable. Rather, the lesson that I learned and the one that stuck with me was about respecting my elders, the men and women who taught me. Now, for far too many young wrestlers, this is as much of a cliché as you can imagine it being. But I did respect those men and women who taught me, which is why it became so easy for me to pick up the other half of the lesson. When it is time for those teachers to become teachers instead of warriors who teach, it will be the task of someone who respects them, who understands what they have contributed, to let them know.
Last week, I faced an icon. I faced a man who has contributed more to this company, and to this sport, than I ever could, no matter how hard I try. And when the smoke cleared, and the battle was finished, I beat him in the middle of the ring. I respect John Pariah. Which is why it was my job to let him know it was time for him to move into the next phase of his career.
TJ Codair and Jason Richards, the two of you might think this your task. You might believe that you will show Jason Aries and I that it is time to move on, that our time at the top is done. And I warn you now: Do not fall victim to where that assumption leads you. This week, Jason Aries and I will beat you. And this is the next part of this warning: Treat us with the respect we have earned. Because if you don’t, if you decide that you want to try and take shortcuts with us to get there, I make you this promise: You will hate how this ends.
Mr. Codair, I will begin this with you. I understand that you have not spent a lot of time studying me, and if I am to take your own words as seriously as you might hope I do, that fact will soon change. So let me introduce myself to you. I am sure you will try to suplex me. There is a chance you might even do it. But keep this in mind: Every time you attack, an opening is left. And this week, when you attack me, I will pounce on every opening until I make you pay for thinking about it. Now as to your Judo background, you should be impressed. But every throw you have learned I know the way around it and the way it’s countered. I will make you tap out, Mr. Codair, because you don’t have the clubs in the bag for this kind of game. When this is done, you will lose. You’ll see what the fuss is about with Bad Company, and why we’re going to beat you.
Mr. Richards, I will move on to you. Everything you learned how to do, every 2nd and 3rd-generation strong style trick you watched on tape and tried to mimic, I learned from the men who did it. There is nothing you can do in that ring, Mr. Richards, that I haven’t already seen and already done better. This week, Mr. Richards, Jason Aries and I will show you just how much you have to learn. You might not think you do, you might not expect to learn anything new, but by the time this is over, you will. And when you fall to Bad Company, when you fall to what Jason Aries and I can do together, you will understand that while you might think you are ready for the level you find yourself on, the cold hard truth is that you are not. Simply put, you are not nearly as good as you need to be in order to handle what is in front of you.
Goodnight gentlemen. May sleep give you the courage to go on.”
