Entrance Music: "Absolute Zero" by Stone Sour
Entrance: "Absolute Zero" by Stone Sour hits the speaker system, which brings out quite a few boos from the fans in attendance. A few moments pass before Damien Frost steps out from the back. He points at the front of his t-shirt, which says "Keep Their Heads Ringing," before extending his arms out to his sides. He does a complete three-sixty before jogging his way down the ramp and sliding under the ropes. Damien quickly takes off his shirt and motions a couple of times like he's going to throw it into the crowd, but instead he drops it in the corner of the ring.
History:
Damien William and Danielle Willow, a set of fraternal twins, were born to Gavin and Michelle Frost on December 8th, 1982. Their father, better known as "Dynamite" Gavin Frost, missed their birth. A professional wrestler, Gavin was away more often than not. He would be gone for weeks, sometimes months, at a time -- only to return home for a couple of days before hitting the road again. It's because of this that Gavin missed many things around the Frost household.
Gavin was mildly successful and while he wasn't a household name, he was good enough to maintain a consistent gig. He sent as much money home as he could, but Michelle had to pick up odd jobs, such as cleaning homes, babysitting, etc. on top of taking care of her own two children on her own. It put a lot of mental and physical stress on her, but she knew what she was marrying into when she fell for Gavin, so she never complained openly to her husband. As the kids grew older, more and more tension began to develop around the house. Damien and Danielle tried to help their mom around the house as much as they could while their dad was away. It bothered them to spend most of their childhood without a father, but much like her mother, Danielle never showed her anger. She kept it buried inside. On the other hand, Damien had no problems showing his disdain for his father.
The company that employed Gavin had a local television deal -- and from a young age, Damien was drawn into professional wrestling, much like his father. He would watch as much wrestling as he possibly could, but the second his father came on the show, he would change the channel without hesitation. When his father came home, Michelle and Danielle would spend every possible second with him, but Damien would lock himself inside his room until Gavin left for another tour. When Damien grew older, he'd start leaving the house for days at time -- only to return once his father left.
Damien didn't hate his dad's profession; he loved the fact that his father was a professional wrestler. What he hated was the fact that his father loved wrestling more than he loved his family. This wasn't the case, of course, but it's how Damien saw it. Not having a father figure took it's toll on him as he grew older; his hatred for his dad would grow more and more every time his friends at school would come in on Monday with fun things they did with their dads over the weekend. The wheels really fell off once Damien hit high school. He started hanging out with the wrong crowds and developed a dangerous addiction to drugs and alcohol.
His family tried to help him get his life together before it was too late. His sister would try to talk sense into him at school, but he never listened. He respected his mom for what she had to go through by herself, but he didn't listen to her either. And as for his father? Damien refused to talk to him. Whenever Gavin would try to approach his son, Damien would leave the room. If Gavin followed him, Damien would leave the house.
In his Junior year of high school, he picked up a job at a local gym. He'd help the owner keep the place clean, wash the towels, etc. He only took the job because he needed money to fuel his addictions. But by having this job, it put him up close and personal to the sport of professional wrestling. He started skipping classes to pick up more hours at the gym. The owner of the gym taught a wrestling class, which he allowed Damien to enter free of charge. At the age of seventeen, before his Senior year, he dropped out of school completely and moved out on his own. He moved during the night while his dad was on his retirement tour. His family hasn't seen him since the day before he moved out on his own -- he's refused to contact them. He left a note, letting them know he left willingly, but that's it.
After he moved, he starting training full time to become a professional wrestler. He wasn't doing it to follow in his father's footsteps, instead he was doing it to prove he could be better than his father. He continued to work at the gym, but instead of using the money wisely, he kept blowing it on drugs and alcohol and would sleep in a different place every night. After he completed his training at the age of twenty, he continued his job at the gym, while taking small bookings here and there, honing his craft.
After about a year of this, a local company in Cincinnati hired him full time, so he packed up and moved to the city. He was a consistent draw for the small company and unlike the rest of the guys on their roster, he could actually wrestle a solid match and he put butts in the seats. It was because of this that they turned the other way in regards to his addictions. After a few years of wrestling for this company, Damien was very close to making it big time, but a fatal drug overdose when he was twenty-five years old nearly took everything away from him.
He was legally dead for five minutes and seventeen seconds before EMTs revived him in a speeding ambulance on the way to the hospital. Once there, he fell into a coma, which lasted over six months. After Damien came out of it, he went through a lot of physical rehabilitation, as well as a hospital mandated substance abuse rehabilitation. He struggled through both, but he eventually completed both and was released after a near twelve month stay in the hospital. His family was never contacted because the hospital had very little information on Damien and didn't know who to call.
From a young age, Damien had a hard time opening up to people. He's always felt that his father walked out on him, thus he always tried to protect himself from emotional pain. When he was under the influence, it masked his true feelings and made him into a completely different person. Without the drugs and alcohol, Damien chose to only see the ugly and nasty in society, refusing to accept anyone into his life and he turned his back in people before "they could turn theirs on him." Because of his way of thinking, he didn't have anyone to lean on once he got out of the hospital, but he made things happen on his own. He picked up a couple of odd jobs while he worked to get himself back into shape.
There's so much more to Damien -- but for now, following nearly four years out of the ring, he has his opportunity to get back into action as he's recently signed a deal with Pro Wrestling X.
