So with Ring Of Honor not renewing the contracts of both Jay and Mark Briscoe (If you believe internet rumors) or due to injury the ROH title has been vacated. Starting July 27th there will be a 16 man tournament to decide the new ROH world champion. Names already confrimed.
Micheal Elgin Brain Kendrick Karl Anderson Kevin Steen Paul London
My question to you is who do you believe will one win and two who you feel deserves to win.

Elgin, Lethal or Cole, one of them should become the champion. But I'm super stoked about the guests, especially Karl Anderson.

Elgin to answer both questions. I think it would be both the best thing to do and the right thing to do. Elgin has been a force since the Davey match that put him on the map last year and I believe in theory we're basically waiting on when he'll win the title(because it's pretty much inevitable that one day we will). Doing it now would make sense to have Elgin finally get his big win and establish him as the guy. If I had to chose an alternative, Adam Cole(as I assume he will be announced to take part in this tourney). Cole's been teasing a heel turn in recent events so say he could face Elgin in the finals, win the title and in the process turn heel during the match(perhaps taking whatever shortcut he can to ensure victory). That could work too.

I hope that Elgin wins. Especially since he was the number one contender to be with.
I think that it will be Steen and Elgin in the final two. I have been keeping up online with the website and I hope that Steen and Elgin are in the final two, but I want to get all sixteen names before I squee on these two.

honestly? no one. If ROH knew Briscoes contract were that close to expiring-they SHOULDNT HAVE PUT THE BELT ON HIM.
The minute he went on his homophobic rage on Twitter, he should of jobbed to whoever he was facing that weekend-and DROPPED THE BELT.
I've said this 100 times on Twitter...Jay Briscoe was the WORST World Champion in ROH History, and thats counting Jamie Noble too!
Personally? If we're on a trip of honoring people who have helped build ROH with the World Title-why not add Jimmy Jacobs to the tournament and put it on him. He's busted his ass for ROH, and for what?
But of those mentioned-yeah unless they've signed Kendrick and London full time....its going to Elgin...

I get the feeling Adam Cole is going to win, and cement his heel turn in doing so. Then he gets a decent title reign, before Elgin beats him to become a dominant champ at either Final Battle or the next Anniversary Show.
:::EDIT:::
Full list of entrants...
#1 - Michael Elgin #2 - Brian Kendrick #3 - Karl Anderson #4 - Kevin Steen #5 - Paul London #6 - Roderick Strong #7 - Adam Cole #8 - Sonjay Dutt #9 - BJ Whitmer #10 - Tommaso Ciampa #11 - Jay Lethal #12 - Michael Bennett #13 - Silas Young or Adam Page (TBC at 27/7 TV taping) #14 - Matt Taven #15 - One of ACH, Tadarius Thomas, Cedric Alexander, Caprice Coleman, and Q.T. Marshall (TBC after fan vote) #16 - Mark Briscoe
So much for BSInsider's assertion The Briscoes were done with ROH, eh?

How in the fuck did Marc Briscoe get on this list after the whole 'contract' thing? This is why I just watch the website and not any other website but that one. I saw the brackets as well for a brief moment and I swear if Adam Cole doesn't beat Marc Briscoe...I am pretty much done with ROH...

Jay;s shoulder is legit fucked up, plus his wife just gave birth so he's taking time off.

SPOILER ALERT!
Silas Young beat Adam Page and QT Marshall to qualify for the match with Ciampa. Adam Cole beat Mark Briscoe... using Jay's finisher (wonder how this plays out). Lethal beat Dutt. Anderson beat ACH.
Also, Matt Taven retained his TV title over Brian Fury, but... *major spoiler feeling* reDRagon demanded that their match with Forever Hooligans will not be Proving Grounds, but a title match... only to lose the belts to Romero and Koslov.
Thoughts?

since we wont see this for like 3 months, cuz of how ROH tapes their TV...meh...
theres absolutely no name in ROH i even remotely care about. you need a major name to build your company around-especially now that you have weekly TV and are considered the number three company in the US. TNA has employed that strategy, and gone overboard.
ROH doesnt have the mind of Paul Heyman, who can use people from other companies as auxiliary characters to enhance his guys. They dont have the money of Dixie Carter to just be able to buy every WWE Reject they need.
Honestly, Chris Hero getting fired from WWE could be ROH's biggest blessing-if it does infact happen. If Hero was to go back to ROH, he now has recognition from NXT-plus being featured on the CM Punk DVD. You now have that recognition-you can start building ROH around him.
I hate to say this, is Matt Hardy like SIGNED to ROH? He's the biggest name you have. Showcase him-and it may attract more fans to your product. Hardy isn't a terrible worker, and his current heel run has been fantastic-because he's just being himself-a dickbag egocentric jackoff.
